Japan Producer Prices Change

Producer prices in Japan decreased by 4.2 percent year-on-year in May of 2016, the same pace as in April and matching market forecasts, preliminary figures from Bank of Japan showed. Export price index dropped by 4.5 percent from a year earlier while import price index was down by 13.1 percent. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.2 percent. Export price index was unchanged from the previous month while import price index rose 0.3 percent.
