Industrial production in Macedonia decreased 1.3 percent year-on-year in February of 2017, following 2.6 percent drop in the previous period. Output fell for manufacturing (-4.4 percent vs -3.6 percent in January), driven by food products (-5.3 percent); beverages (-12.1 percent); tobacco products (-11.2 percent); textiles (-8.2 percent) and wearing apparel (-22.5 percent). Meanwhile, output dropped less for mining and quarrying (-4.9 percent vs -7.2 percent) and rose at a faster pace for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (31.9 percent vs 10.6 percent). Industrial Production in Macedonia averaged 1.70 percent from 2005 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 24.50 percent in March of 2011 and a record low of -14.50 percent in June of 2009.
