The labour force fell 1.1 percent to 585.5 thousand while those detached from the labour force rose 3.8 percent to 392.9 thousand. In the third quarter of 2016, the jobless rate was higher at 7.6 percent. Considering full 2016, the unemployment rate decreased to 7.3 percent from 7.9 percent in 2015.
