In the year ended in February of 2017, visitor arrivals equalized the record 3.54 million set in January, up 11 percent from a year earlier. Tourist Arrivals in New Zealand averaged 58426.97 from 1921 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 494193 in December of 2016 and a record low of 40 in April of 1942.
